Wild Flowers - Business For Sale
Easter Time at Wild Flowers
Wild Flowers is a well established busy retail shop, in a prime location on the High Street, right in the heart of Standish village on the outskirts of Wigan, North West England. Since 2008, Wild Flowers has created a strong recognised brand and built up a community of fans who absolutely love our style and appreciate our quality of flowers. Each year brings the seasonal floral calendar of events and the repeat custom always overwhelms us. We have a large following on our social media platforms, using mainly Instagram and Facebook and have a mailing list of over 2000 subscribers. If you have always wanted your own Florist shop then this could be ideal for you.
Why are we selling and who would be ideal?
Kerry has been a florist for over 25 years after leaving the banking industry to pursue something more creative. She recently married in 2023 and recognises that she would like more time to spend with her husband, making memories and travelling in their motorhome. They have some projects they would like to work on together. She also started writing a book and has been researching the way humans react to flowers and the creative process for wellbeing and recouperation, needing to free up more time to explore this further. The shop has given her a wonderful, fulfilling work life and she still loves the flowers, but no longer wants to be restricted by the hours required of a retail store to be open.
A florist life is a wide and varied vocation but for the right person it can be the most rewarding career path. Flowers more or less are at every occasion in our lifetimes and to provide beauty in blooms for such times is an honour. Clients become friends and workshop students become community, shop life certainly offers a social aspect that is rare in many occupations. One day you can be unpacking boxes of fresh flowers from the wholesalers, 100’s of stems of flowers to check, prepare and condition for use. The next day you can be sat at a computer creating recipes for designs, organising spreadsheets, talking to suppliers and updating stock levels. Then, there are the days when you just get to create, with beautiful flowers that make your heart swell with happiness but then you get to hand them over to the customer who’s reaction makes you feel like a floral magician. The right person/people to take over would therefore need to be organised, enthusiastic, energetic and creative. You may not necessarily have been a florist , obviously, it helps but you may have transferable skills and learn as you go. Kerry has never stopped learning and has felt it an important thread to her bow to be open to new ideas, learning new skills and keeping an eye on trends. If you are an experienced florist though, the shop would come with the ability to reopen with a new owner and ready to go. The phone will no doubt be ringing with orders and the website will have generated you orders to fulfil overnight. If you need help training though, Kerry will be available for up to 6 months to get you up to speed.

The Details
The asking price has now been reduced from £50,000 to £45,000. Early in 2025 we had the ideal buyer and agreed a sale so the business was taken off the market. With just a few weeks to go before handover in May, the buyer had to back out due to serious health problems which was devastating for both parties. So we have relisted at a reduced price and are open to offers.
Rental is £750 per month
Business Rate relief applies to this building
Accounts are available on request to serious interested parties

Our style
Our love of quality flowers and foliage and giving them the designs to shine is evident when you receive a Wild Flowers arrangement. We choose the best, daily, from our suppliers to ensure freshness and to keep our flower stand topped up with the best the season has to offer along with our firm favourites. We create more organic, natural styled designs for our main range of gift bouquets, flowers in a gift box or our glass vase gifts. This is what we are renowned for and keeps our customers coming back for all their special occasion needs. Kerry has been teaching workshops for over 9 years now and it has become a stand out attribute to the business, at Christmas we host over 100 students who come along to make their own wreaths. Spring, summer and Autumn all have their place in our curriculum for flower workshops and get booked up so fast.
Weddings - we have slowed down on our wedding bookings as we look to process the sale. Kerry did not wish to book clients for events way into the future without knowing if she would still be here. This way , a new owner could take control of future wedding bookings and build that at their own pace or simply transfer their own clients over if they are an existing florist without any dates clashing.
